Introduction:

There are times when a pre-prepared 3D printing file does not quite fit your purposes. Perhaps the dimensions of the final product does not quite match what you need. Perhaps you have identified an improvement that you could make that would make it even better. I will be going over how to do this using a file meant to mount an internal hard drive designed by hoylenie on Autodesk Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3458415). As my PC case is not Dell, I want to remix the design so it fits my hard drive bay.

Software:

I predominantly use Autodesk Fusion 360 and Autodesk Tinkercad for making and remixing designs. I personally find Tinkercad easier to work with for remixing so I will be going over how to use it for our purposes. Tinkercad is free to use online software (http://tinkercad.com).

Process:

  1. Log in and create a new design on Tinkercad from your dashboard

2. Import your desired file using the “Import” button on the toolbar
